CANADIAN BRASS BAND TO TOUR UK
An inspirational Brass Band from Toronto, Canada will be visiting locally as part of their tour of England, Northern Ireland and South Wales.
The North York Temple Salvation Army Band has been in great demand in recent times and contains a powerful message of Christian values and beliefs through an array of dynamic music at the highest standard. Being featured at events such as the prestigious ‘Great Brass Band Festival’ in Kentucky, USA as well as performing at the world-renowned Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, the band are gaining highly significant credentials.
Bandmaster Glenn Barlow, himself born in England said of the forthcoming tour: “the band are thrilled at the prospect of coming to the home of The Salvation Army and also the home of brass banding. We recognize the rich heritage of both and want to provide people with an enriching spiritual experience.”
As well as providing a fantastic array of glittering music and also 2 brand new CD recordings, the band also hope to raise funds for both local and international community projects.
The Salvation Army in Millfield, Sunderland said: “We are looking forward to welcoming North York Temple Band to Elvet Methodist Church, Durham as part of the band’s tour. While The Salvation Army is known for its music-making and work with marginalised and vulnerable people in this country, the band’s visit will also provide an excellent opportunity to connect with the Army internationally as a community.”
North York Temple Band will appear at Elvet Methodist Church, Durham, DH1 3HL on Tuesday 14th May at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from events@sunderlandmillfield.com priced £10 for adults and free for under 16s.
